The Gibbon Center
Gibbons are endangered small arboreal apes, native to the dwindling rain forests of SE, South and East Asia. The Gibbon Conservation Center houses the rarest group of these apes in the Western Hemisphere and is the only institution in the world to house and breed all four genera of gibbon. We work for the endangered gibbons' benefit through conservation, propagation and study, and by teaching people about them.

The Breakfast is back!
Please join us for a special event at the Gibbon Conservation Center that will include guided tours of the center, which houses the rarest group of apes in the western hemisphere. A light breakfast, gift boutique, vendors, and special children’s activities.
We’ll hear the gibbons “sing” their spectacular territorial call – a truly remarkable and unforgettable experience!

We want to thank Elias Kary and his students from Monterey Peninsula College for their hard work this weekend in enlarging Tuk, Domino and Izzy’s enclosure (pileated gibbon family). Domino is so amazing at brachiating and truly appreciates his added space!

This event will take place at Silverlake Wine and will include 3 distinctly different wines servered with farmhouse cheeses, olives, and a La Brea Bakery bread. Additional glasses will be available for purchase if your in the mood for a little extra. There will be a small silent auction and any one who buys a ticket online will be entered in a raffle to win some specialty items. This event will be on going so come at your convenience anytime between 5 and 9.
